DATE: 9-August-2008 Can’t fit everything on one page, but don’t want to reduce the size of the font by one whole font size? Try using in between sizes. Although this technique does not work with every font style it does work with the majority of them. Click in your font size box and use the arrow key, if needed, and move the insertion point to the right of the current font size. Most font styles will let you enter sizes in ¼ increments. Try 12.5 or 8.75. The smallest font size listed for Times New Roman is 8 points and the largest is 72 points. Times New Roman font sizes are incremented by two from 12 to 28 points and then font sizes jumps to 36, 48, and 72 point. I have experimented with this font and was able to reduce the font size down to 7.5. You can also resize fonts between 36 and 72 and even go beyond 72 points. I was able to change Times New Roman to 100 points and other font styles even larger. Each font style is different and I recommend experimenting with your favorites to find out what the limits are for each font style. |
