Firefox

By default Firefox will save downloaded files to your desktop. This may be fine in some cases, but after awhile your desktop will become too cluttered. Downloads can be saved to any location on your hard drive, for instance, a folder named Downloads. Create a folder directly off  C:\.

Click on Firefox's Tool menu and then Options. In the Options dialog click on Main. Under Downloads check the Save files to option and click Browse. Browse to the folder you want to save your files to or create a new folder by clicking Make new folder.

Saving downloads to their own folder will keep your desktop from becoming cluttered and will help keep your downloads organized. You could create subdirectories within the Downloads directory to further the organization of them.
