DATE:28-July-2008 There are many professional certifications available. My back ground is in Networking (Novel Netware) and I have recently decided to upgrade my professional skill set. Certain certifications are almost a must in the world of technology. Microsoft’s MCSA or MCSE are two certification sets that meet my professional goals. Although I have written about my MCSA track before I have changed my mind on the MCSA’s final certification track. I am considering choosing a specialization track instead of a straight Server 2003 track. The Security specialization track would require one additional certification. Another certification that I would like to obtain is a Linux certification. CompTIA Linux+ certification looks like it may fit the bill. I don’t know whether this particular certification will get any job offers in my area, but studying for this exam will defiantly increase my knowledge and hone my Linux skills. One other professional track peaks my interest at this time and that is to be a Certified Ethical Hacker. Having worked through a textbook or two on this subject has not only perked my interest, but has made me realize just how beneficial this certification could be. I suspect the CEH certification will fit very well with my MCSA security specialization plans. |
