When I renamed a document into a new directory I was prompted by Dreamweaver to update links; the links being any images and other content that might have been linked from other directories (like my assets folder). All links were updated except for the background image. I could have recoded and pointed the link back to root folder, but I did wonder why Dreamweaver did not update this image along with the others.
