DATE: 18-October-2008 Keep your Ideas FreshI am constantly coming up with ideas for new Blog Posts. When an idea comes into my mind I open my text editor and add a Filed Under category and a title and save the file to my Blog Posts folder. Some ideas I come back to and elaborate on while others get lost in the mix. To help me keep organized I use two of Windows Explorers sorting methods. Right clicking in Windows Explorer I choose Arrange Icons by... > Modified. I right click again and choose Arrange Icons by... > Show in Groups. This option sorts my posts by when they were last modified and the latest posts are listed on top and the oldest posts are on the bottom of the list. I often forget what I have started and every once in while I go through the folder. If I see a posting that I want to continue I open it and add a few sentences and the file is added to the top of the list. If I don’t get around to finishing the article and posting it, the article will slowly works its way back down the list. This way my ideas don’t get lost and some posts get developed a little at a time. |
