DATE: 9-September-2008 Microsoft’s Windows assigns specific commands for each function keys; however, each computer manufacture assigns different commands to the function keys. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen is displayed, the following function keys can be used: F2 - To automatically start the Automated System Recovery (ASR) process. During graphical user interface (GUI)-Mode Setup, the following function keys can be used: SHIFT+F10 - To enable access to a command prompt during GUI-Mode Setup Dell Computers make use of the following keys for booting options and to access the Set-up Menu: F12- Boot Device Menu My Compaq computer uses the following function keys for these boot options: Esc - Boot Menu Sources |
